Vocational Venturer Program thriving in Prince George

The RCMP and Scouts Canada have had a supportive relationship from the inception of both organizations. An example of the success of this partnership is the Vocational Venturer Program currently operating in Prince George, BC. The co-ed group invites youth aged 14 to 17 to participate in both traditional scouting outdoor activities and RCMP training opportunities.

RCMP Youth academy gives youth a chance to experience life as a police officer

The RCMP Youth Academy is a work experience program open to all grade 11 and 12 Students across northern BC. The program is a joint effort between the Prince George RCMP Detachment and School District 57 (Prince George) to allow students, who may be considering a career in the policing field, an opportunity to experience training life with the RCMP.

Run for Fun - Pavement Princessess

The RCMP, Victim Services and Community Policing Units in Prince George offer a health and fitness program called "Run for Fun." The program runs twice a year and is intended for girls between the ages of 10 and 15 years. Both the spring and fall programs focus on fitness but also provides an opportunity to reach out to girls in a positive way and build relationships in the community.
