Police responded to a Break & Enter in progress yesterday afternoon.
On Tuesday January 31st, 2017 at approximately 10:40 AM, the Prince George RCMP responded to a report of a Break & Enter in progress at a residence in Prince George. Four males were seen attempting to gain entry to a second story window.
Multiple police officers including a Police Dog Service Team attended the residence. The occupants in the residence failed to obey commands of the police. For the safety of possible victims inside, police entered the residence. Upon entry, two suspects fled out the back door and were taken into custody after a brief foot chase and with the assistance of Police Service Dog ‘Dero’. Two others were taken into custody without incident. A loaded prohibited rifle, ammunition and other evidence was seized. The two suspects that fled the residence were found to have arrest warrants.
The Prince George RCMP will continue to use all our resources to target those persons that choose to live a criminal lifestyle says Cpl. Craig Douglass, spokesperson for the Prince George RCMP.
Further, we encourage all members of our community to immediately report suspicious activity to police. Without information from the public, these arrests would not have been made and we would not have seized the prohibited firearm.
