IHIT has deployed to Richmond after a woman was found deceased in her home.
Background:
On April 26, 2024 at approximately 5 p.m., the Richmond RCMP received a request for a check-wellbeing at a residence in the 4900-block of Princeton Avenue, in Richmond. Members attended and located a 71-year old woman deceased inside her home. Evidence located at scene resulted in members apprehending the victim’s 38-year old son, who was inside the residence. The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) has taken conduct of the investigation and continues to work closely with the Richmond RCMP, the BC Coroners Service and the Integrated Forensic Identification Services.
This is an isolated incident with no ongoing risk to the public,
says Sergeant Timothy Pierotti of IHIT. Anyone with information about the victim or anyone else involved in this incident is asked to contact IHIT immediately, as we work to build a timeline of events.
