Investigators from Prince George RCMP’s Serious Crime Unit are investigating the first homicide of the year.
Shortly after 11:00 a.m. on January 25, 2022, the Prince George RCMP received a request to attend the 1300 block of Porter Avenue to assist B.C. Ambulance Service with a man located there with serious injuries.
The man was transported to hospital but did not survive his injuries. Police are currently on scene at a residence on Porter Avenue while investigators gather information. The Integrated Forensic Identification Section has been contacted to assist in the investigation.
Our Serious Crime Unit is working diligently to determine the series of events that lead us to 2022’s first homicide. Our thoughts go out to the family and friends of the victim,

Investigators would like to speak with anyone around the 1300 block of Porter Avenue who may have witnessed some unusual activity Tuesday morning. Additionally, if anyone in the area has video surveillance or dash cam footage from Tuesday morning between 9:00 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. whom police have not yet spoken with, please call 250-561-3300 to speak with an investigator.
