Police investigating social media post at DP Todd

Prince George

2022-05-25 15:49 PDT

File # 2022-17223

Prince George RCMP is currently working with the staff and students at DP Todd to investigate a social media post received by a student on May 18, 2022.

The content of the post is concerning to police and we are working to find the original sender. It is stock photo of a meme found on the internet, so we would like to know the motivation behind sending it, states Cpl. Jennifer Cooper, media spokesperson for the Prince George RCMP.

Police do not believe there is an increased risk to the students or staff, and the hold-and-secure at DP Todd has now been lifted. The investigation will remain open until the original sender is located and spoken with.

If you have any information about this or any other criminal offence, please contact the Prince George RCMP at (250)561-3300 or anonymously contact Crime Stoppers at 1(800)222-8477 or online at www.northernbccrimestoppers.ca (English only). You do not have to reveal your identity to Crime Stoppers. If you provide information that leads to an arrest or recovery of stolen property, you could be eligible for a cash reward.
